Nestlé’s First-Ever Adoption Drive for Indie Dogs, with Earthlings Trust

Animal Welfare

On May 24, 2025, Nestlé India launched its first adoption drive for animals at the Nestlé House campus. As part of their yearly community programs, they are taking a step towards promoting animal welfare by hosting their inaugural adoption drive. This event showed how Nestlé is growing their efforts to contribute to society.

A New Beginning for Five Rescued Dogs

The Earthlings Trust team brought five rescued Indie dogs aged 3-5 months (Manni, Krishna, Coco, Kurkure, and Shine), each with a unique story of resilience and recovery. Among them were two pups who were rescued at their lowest. One was found with a swollen face, and Olive was paralysed when Earthlings Trust first brought them in. Ever since they have made remarkable recoveries under the dedicated care of Earthlings Trust, with round-the-clock care and unwavering dedication, both dogs are now thriving, healthy, playful, and full of life.

In collaboration with Earthlings Trust, these pups, it was their first interaction with humans, symbolising a hopeful start to their journey towards finding loving homes.

Championing Indian Breeds

Ditej Garg, the founder of Earthlings Trust, addressed attendees that Indian breeds, also known as “Indies,” are wonderful pets. He said that we don’t always need to choose pedigree dogs when there are many loving and resilient dogs in India in need of homes.

Therapy Sessions and Virtual Parenting

Nestlé arranged a dog therapy session at the event, so employees could see the beneficial effects of being with dogs. In addition, Earthlings Trust set up their Virtual Parenting Programme (MVP), making it possible for people to engage with shelter dogs without having to adopt them.

Post-Event Developments

After the event, people talked more about adopting these dogs. The dogs were provided with their personal IDs by Earthlings Trust (for example, Coco the barking manager, and Krishna copywoofer) to ensure they could be safely identified. The positive feedback from participants and staff showed that these initiatives can last and really help.

An Effort for a Better Future

This process demonstrates how big businesses and non-profit organisations can succeed with teamwork. Nestlé India’s campaign with Earthlings Trust gave rescued dogs new homes while raising awareness about choosing Indian breeds.

After people started discussing adoption again, it hit them: this event was only the start of countless other stories. Because their hearts and awareness are open, Nestlé and Earthlings Trust can now work together on more actions that help people care for abandoned animals in India.

They’ve both shown that, sometimes, only a dog’s pawprint is needed to make a big difference.
